SHOP ALL DAY WHILE SUPPORTING YOUR COMMUNITY-- Village of Hempstead Police Activities League teamed up with Lord and Taylors for a Benefit Bash on Tuesday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m. to10:00 a.m. We were one of several non-profit groups participating in the sale of $5.00 admission tickets to Lord & Taylors Benefit Bash. We retained all proceeds from our ticket sales. Which will aid our organization to further our youth programs. It was a great succes. Thank you to Detective Sean Hamilton for all his hard work on this project. Thank you, to all of you who came out to support our cause.

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE HEMPSTEAD VILLAGE P.A.L.

The Mission of the Hempstead P.A.L. is to provide youth who reside in the Incorporated Village of Hempstead, and the immediate surrounding communites between the ages of 5 to 18 with educational, recreational, cultural, and social programs. Providing the necessary organization, volunteers, and staff to accomplish this mission.

The primary purpose of the P.A.L. will be to create relationships between the youth and the police officers, which serve the community. The objective will be to prevent juvenile delinquency, drug use/ involvement, alcohol, gang resistance, and other social ills by fostering attitudes of good character, citizenship, and sportsmanship.

The success of the P.A.L. will depend upon the generosity of individuals, and corporate donations, and various fund-raising events. Assistance maybe provided through contributions of services, materials, and facilities. The Hempstead P.A.L. will also cooperate with other agencies that serve the youth of Hempstead.

The Village of PAL was informed some time ago in October 2006 to be exact, that P.A.L. would have its own building. Well we kept our fingers crossed, but it looks like things did not go our way this time. That's o.k., maybe sometime in the future. We do currently have a small building located in the rear of 5 Martin Luther King Drive, Hempstead. We are fortunate enough to host family night, children's parties, computers, Nassau County Girl Scouts, Dance School, summer camp, and so much more.

If you know of anyone who would like to donate a building to the PAL please call us right away. We could really use a bigger space, for classrooms.Kiss

The PAL will be hosting it's third annual dance recital at Queens Bourough Community College on June 29th. What an exciting evening it will be. The students have danced their hearts out again for another year. With so many additional students this year, we expect a bigger end of year show.

Classes are held at our PAL building located in the rear of 5 Martin Luther king Drive, Hempstead. The number to call for more information is (516)564-0056 and ak for Mrs. Rita McQueen.

The Studio hours are Thursday, Friday nioghts from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We offer tap, jazz, hip-hop, ethnic, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, modern, and even adult classes on Tuesday nights.
