DID YOU KNOW.....................
THE SIGN OF THE FISH
I have always been very curious about the fish symbol that many people display on their bumper stickers, necklaces etc. Well I knew it was related to the church, but I never had a full understanding. I was surprised to find out that this symbol nearly as old as Christianity was the most common representation of Jesus Christ from the second through the fourth centuries.
Why?, Fish was a common food shared in the community meals of early Christians, the resurrected Lord shared a meal of fish and bread to his disciples. When Christians were forced to worship secretly because of opposition, the fish symbol was placed outside the Christians home, this would announce Communion was to be served that night.
I thought it was very interesting to share.

Take a close look at the word GUIDANCE (G-U-I-D-A-N-C-E).
Pastor Jerome Taylor says it stands for, "God you and I dance".
A sad day is upon us, Thursday, June 25, 2009, the death of Michael Joseph Jackson (age 50). He was a star, and a true legend. No one has ever sold as many albums as he did in his career, he gave us the zippered jackets from "Thriller", the first movie videos. "Beat it", and "Bad" every kid wanted to move like that, he was a part of the dance styles and music of the 60's (Jackson 5), 70's, 80's, and even in the 90's and the turn of the century he made come backs. More importantly he continued to sell out every tour around the world. Now we all have heard about his infamous moments with the law, but I say he paid heavily for those allegations. Guilty or not, the media and police should have held some responsibility with parents who knowingly allowed their children to stay in private rooms with a 35-40 year old man, sounds like a pay day to me. The fact that he wanted to have a very light skinned complextion and a small nose, showed me a person that was hurting on the inside and needed help. However, that is my personal opinion. Micheal Jackson's performances set the standard for the half time shows at the Super Bowl and many stages around the world. He was an amazing PERFORMER and ENTERTAINER. He was part of my generation and he will be missed ! Michael Jackson was an influence in the music industry, as were the Beatles or Billy Joel. The GLOVED ONE will continue to be the KING OF POP music. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE.
