HEMPSTEAD POLICE ATHLETIC/ACTIVITIES LEAGUE
THE HEMPTEAD PAL ROLL CALL OF THE DAY/EVENTS AND UPDATES *
Director/Detective Jackie Jones -Ford states that "the parents and staff of Kennedy Park have made vast strides in improving the quality of programs introduced by the Hempstead P.A.L.". With the addition of the various successful programs that have been introduced by Detective Jones-Ford, which include Golf, Kung-Fu, Cheerleading, Tennis,Winter Ski Trips, Ice Skating, Girl Scouts, Children's Parties, Arbor Day with Seniors,Roller Hockey, Bowling and Women's Self-Defense. The Hempstead P.A.L. has once again become an example of what positive role models are to the youths of the the Hempstead community.
Detective Jackie Jones-Ford also states, "It's not about how many games you win, but the lesson of sportsmanship, leadership, building strong characters, and good citizenship in our young people, so that they may go on to be great adults."
Hempstead P.A.L. Sports/Events Updates
The Summer is starting to cool down and so PAL is ready to start new programs for the fall.
The PAL will have its fall registrations on Saturday, September 20th and 27th at Kennedy Memorial Park, located at 335 Greenwich Street, Hempstead between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm sharp. Register your child for:
Bowling held on Saturdays at AMF Bowl ages 5-18
Basketball held on Tuesday and Friday evenings at Kennedy Park ages 7-12
Forensics In The Classroom held at the ABGS Middle School, Tuesday and Friday after school for 6th graders only.
Halloween Party held at the PAL Center for ages 7-12
Karate held at Kennedy Park on Monday and Wednesday nights ages 5-18

The 14u, 16u, 19u Basketball Travel Teams have come to a close. the season has ended for all age groups.The Hempstead PAL Track Team will be looking to keep their winter full this year with in door track. TBA
The Anuual Dinner Dance will be held on November 6th at the Jericho Terrace. SAVE THE DATE !!!!
The PAL attempted this summer to pull together a six transitional program for youth going from the 5th grade into the 6th grade. The program will take place next July 2009. We will keep you posted on this project.
